You can change your trading results when you learn
• To take small losses
• To let profits run
• To reduce the number of trades
• To stop searching for tips
• To focus on one setup
If you want to change your trading behavior, make a START/STOP list
• Which behavior must be started and stopped?
• What are the actions in your trading that must be changed?
• Who should be followed/unfollowed on social media?
• Which process must be improved?
6 characteristics of a great setup:
1) Clean and simple base pattern (cup & handle, flat base...)
2) Longer consolidation (>6 weeks)
3) Strong uptrend before consolidation
4) High volume on uptrend
5) Low volume in consolidation
6) Low volatility before breakout
Purpose of fundamentals / technicals and volume:
- Fundamentals: Find stocks with high potential to attract money from institutions.
- Technicals: Find the best entry / exit.
- Volume: Analyze supply and demand.
Combine all three dimensions to find the best stocks!
VALUATION
If you have no idea where to exit a trade, use a simple moving average. As soon as the prices closed below it, exit the trade. Gain some experience with that method and adjust it to your needs. It's much better than having no exit strategy.
7 signs a stock trend is exhausted:
1) Price >100% above MA 200
2) Largest volume since start of the trend
3) Big gap after several months of rally
4) New highs on lower volume
5) Reversal bar on weekly chart
6) 50% gains in 3 weeks
7) >7 days up in a row
